What it is

Tokenization
A card number is replaced with a surrogate token that is useless if intercepted. Store the token, re-charge the token — the card itself never needs to live in your database or your POS.
The card you never stored cannot be stolen from you.
Recurring billing & card on file
Memberships, retainers, payment plans and subscriptions all need to charge the same customer again next month. A token makes that possible without your system becoming a place cardholder data lives.
Scope, reduced
Every system that touches a raw card number becomes part of your compliance problem. Tokenizing at the edge is the cheapest way to shrink how much of your estate that includes.
For platforms & ISVs
API-driven and developer-friendly
Payco's ISV program is built for integrating payments into SaaS platforms, mobile apps and enterprise systems — rather than bolting a hosted page onto the side of a product.
Connected to the rest of the estate
The gateway is one surface of a platform that also reaches 2,000+ POS, ERP, CRM and accounting systems, so an integration does not end at the authorization.
Stated plainly
What we do not claim on this page. Payco has not published a PCI DSS attestation level, a HIPAA certification, a SOC report or a breach or fraud guarantee — so none is asserted here. A compliance badge is something a merchant relies on when deciding how to handle cardholder data, and an unearned one is worse than none at all.
If your procurement process needs attestations, ask for them directly at support@mypayco.com or 1-424-230-7212 and you will get whatever exists, or an honest "not yet".
Who we board
| Category | Position |
|---|---|
| Low-risk merchants | Supported |
| Standard-risk merchants | Supported |
| High-risk merchants | Referred to third-party providers at Payco's discretion |
| Account decisions | Payco reserves discretion to decline any account |
Being told early that you are outside a provider's appetite is worth more than being boarded and frozen ninety days later with settlement held. If you are unsure which category you fall into, ask before you apply.

Common questions
What is Payco Secure?
Payco Secure is the gateway layer behind Payco merchant accounts. It handles card tokenization, exposes a documented v2 developer API, and provides a merchant portal at paycosecure.com for managing transactions.
What is tokenization and why does it matter?
Tokenization replaces a card number with a surrogate value that is useless if intercepted. The token can be stored and re-charged for recurring billing or card-on-file, while the card number itself never has to live in your system.
Is there a developer API?
Yes. The Payco Secure API is documented at version 2, alongside separate tokenization documentation, for building payments into SaaS platforms, mobile apps and enterprise systems.
Which merchant categories does Payco support?
Payco generally supports low-risk and standard-risk merchant categories, and reserves discretion to decline accounts or refer high-risk merchants to third-party providers.
Who are the sponsor banks behind Payco Secure?
Payco is a registered MSP/ISO of Elavon Inc., Georgia, a wholly owned subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp, Minneapolis, MN, and a registered Independent Sales Organization of Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., Concord, CA.
Do you hold a PCI attestation?
Nothing is published, so nothing is claimed here. Request current documentation from support@mypayco.com or 1-424-230-7212 and you will be told exactly what exists.
